Local North Texas Organizations



Gardeners in Community Development brightens Dallas by bringing local families together to build and maintain community gardens, where the majority of the harvests are donated to local food banks.  With a mission is to grow people, their six area gardens enhance the quality of life in area neighborhoods in many ways, and provide a place to learn and share the joy of gardening with others.

The Texas Discovery Gardenswas the first 100% certified organic public garden in the state and features spectacular plants grown using sustainable methods that conserve water and protect the environment. Their mission is to have a positive impact on the future of Texas by teaching effective ways to restore and preserve nature in the urban environment through the use of native and adapted plants that illustrate the interrelationship of Butterflies, Bugs and Botany.


International Organizations



Trees for the Futurehelps developing communities sprout and plant millions of new trees every year. We first met Dave Deppner at the 2003 Green Festival and have been supporters of his good work ever since.

The Snow Leopard Trustis the largest and oldest organization working solely to protect the endangered snow leopard and its Central Asian habitat.  Green Living offers some of the wonderful goods produced the Snow Leopard Trust's cooperatives, such as the beautiful Kazakh wool rugs and ornaments, proceeds from which go to programs that help the leopards.  Support the Snow Leopard Trust and help protect these amazing cats.
