Amazingly versatile and renewable resource with many applications. Cork flooring has been used successfully in homes, commercial businesses, and gathering halls for years. It provides a naturally resilient cushion for foot traffic and as a result limits noise production. It has some insulation capacity and is anti-static, meaning that it doesn't attract as much dust and is easier to keep clean than vinyl or laminate floors. Cork Oak trees live principally in Spain and Portugal where they can be found among olive groves and vineyards. The cork bark is harvested on a rotational basis (each tree about every nine years) with no harm to the trees.

Application

These cork tiles are to be glued down with the Natural Cork Adhesive and can be installed over most subfloors. Due to it's insulating capacity and cushioning resilience cork can be an excellent choice over concrete slabs. After installation, cork can be finished like a wood floor with an oil, wax, or urethane. Cork flooring can be stained to your choice of color before finishing. Coverage

The tiles are manufactured in Portugal and therefore measure metric 300mm x 300mm which is very close to 11-3/4" x 11-3/4" with a 3/16" thickness. When estimating the quantity for your project, it is customary to add 5% to allow for cutting in around the perimeter of the room.
