The Organic Cotton/Pure Grow Wool mattress is hand-tufted and covered with a gentle, caressing organic fabric to provide support and comfort for restful sleep. Under the soft-to-the-touch cover is the perfect support system constructed of tempered Donnell steel innersprings. The tempered innersprings are covered with layers upon layers of fluffy organic cotton and then wrapped with Pure Grow Wool™.

Construction

• Core: Bonnell Springs (classic hourglass coils) tied together with helical cross wires. Spring wire gauge dependent on firmness
• Flexolator Barrier: Separates padding and springs. Thin gauge wire running across mattress with organic cotton fabric.
• Organic Cotton Padding: Multiple layers of fluffed organic cotton provide the cushion
• Wool Padding: The entire mattress is wrapped in natural wool to provide cushion, make it less absorbent to perspiration, and provide the flame retardancy.

Naturally Fire Retardant

These mattresses meet the federal fire regulations and the more stringent California Technical Bulletin 603 because of the generous layers of Pure Grow Wool. The wool is also woven into the organic cotton cover to contro flame spread. Compare this natural solution to the convention non-natural mattresses that use various and often declared chemicals such as Decabromodiphenyl Oxide and Antimony Trioxide to meet the fire regulations. Toxicity research shows that main route of exposure to Antimony Trioxide is through inhalation and the elimination of antimony from the body is slow, leading to a risk of chronic toxicity.
