Reduced Allergens

Allergens are a significant health issue with conventional mattresses and pillows. With our natural rubber crib mattress, the hypoallergenic latex core reduces your child's exposure to molds and fungi, and the Pure Grown wool encasement releases body moisture and stays dry, therefore; not providing a harbor for dust mites and mildews.

Naturally Fire Retardant

Our natural mattresses use only the natural fire retardant properties of wool to meet the federal fire regulations (16 CFR 1632-1634) and being designed and manufactured in California the mattress meets the more stringent California Technical Bulletin 603. A simple layer of natural wool, which is woven and applied in a technique that allows this mattress to beat the official flame tests. In these tests, a gas flame is applied to the mattress and rate of spread is measured. Conventional mattresses which often contain many flammable synthetics such as polyurethane foam, polyesters, and vinyl, must be treated with borates and antimony to control flame spread.

Installation

The crib mattress is sized to fit snuggly within a standard size crib. The mattress must be supported by a sturdy set of slats that are preferably spaced no more than 2 inches apart. We do not recommend one-piece mattress support, such as a sheet of plywood or fiber board, for any type of mattress as this does not allow air circulation and could trap moisture.
