Mayan Hands is a fair trade organization that has been working with Mayan weavers since 1989. They now work with approximately 200 weavers, organized in groups of 12 to 50 women, living in eleven different communities around the western and northern highlands of Guatemala.
The textiles from Mayan Hands are woven on the backstrap loom and display the richness of color characteristic of Mayan textiles. All of their products carry hang tags with information on the producers and their culture. Through your purchase, not only are you obtaining a beautiful product but you are contributing to improve the lives of Mayan peoples and strengthen their traditions.
